Need an easy, quick and healthy recipe that will make anyone satisfied after one bite? Well, I've got just the snack for you and your friends!

Though I am an avid lover of fashion and constantly am trying new styles, I never have actually attempted to cook anything on my own...until now!

I tried this recipe - one that I have never tried before - and absolutely fell in love with it!  Not only did it taste amazing, but it only took 20 minutes to make... Hard to believe, I know, but it is the truth!

This simple appetizer requires only six ingredients that can be found at any grocery store- tomatoes, garlic cloves, olive oil, salt and pepper, basil, and a baguette of French bread. 

My first experience of cooking went as smoothly as it possibly could...besides the crazy mess I made during this experiment!  When I first cut through the ripe tomatoes, my hands seemed tense.  This all changed, however, after cutting my sixth tomato - I even found the cutting to be relaxing and fun! 

Serve this appetizer during any fashion trunk show and your guests will most definitely leave satisfied...hopefully with a handbag or dress in hand!

It's hard to believe that Converse made their first appearance in 1908 in Massachusetts for professional basketball use.  Basketball players throughout the years have won games, championships, and more while wearing these lucky shoes.

Flash forward, and you'll see these sporty shoes have attracted a whole new generation.  Converse are not only sneakers, they are a style.  When these shoes are worn with the right outfit, they can transform your boring outfit into a look you'll never want to change.

Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk

"Leopard Skin"

Jean Paul Gaultier’s exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art was far from the ordinary- it was out of this world.  Thick black stripes crawled alongside the outer walls of the exhibit, making me feel as if I could hear Jean Paul Gaultier inviting me to take a peek inside of his creative mind.  As I entered his sanctuary, I felt my heart race- where should I look first?! Floor length gowns, sailor get-ups, and sexy corsets surrounded me.  I truly was in fashion heaven.  The mannequins (more like providential wearers), came to life with animation- I wish I was the lucky owner of these incredible designs!  The mannequins even began to speak in different languages about the garments they were wearing!  My steps shortened as I weaved in and out of each themed room, not wanting my trip into the mind of a genius to end.  A mermaid-style latex bodysuit covered with scales shimmered from across the room, giving the illusion of an ocean.  A shell cone bra completed this mermaid look, bringing me back to the nineties.  Madonna’s top hit “Like a Virgin” played over and over in my mind.  Just when I thought this song would be stuck in my head forever, I entered one of the six sections in the exhibit titled “Urban Jungle.” Madonna’s lyrics immediately stopped playing in my mind- I was breathless.  A beaded gown titled “Leopard Skin” literally made my heart skip a beat.  It was incredible! Brown, gold, crimson, and white beads create an illusion of the real skin of a leopard.  This gown took over an astonishing 1,000 hours to make. But let me tell you, the hard and laborious work certainly paid off.  My eyes glanced over the entire room, each piece catching my eye.  I  sauntered around the jungle, my stride lengthening with the desire to see every individual piece.  The sight of the exit sign brought me back to reality, my time with Jean Paul Gaultier had sadly ended…well, at least for now.    

Jean Paul Gaultier in this month’s Harper’s Bazaar exclaimed:

 “It’s very good  for my work to be a chameleon.” 

The Fashion of Self

Coco Chanel hit the nail on the head when she said “Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.” Fashion changes from person to person, year to year, country to country, and season to season.  But no matter what stylish wardrobe I fanatically create in my mind, I know one thing will never change: my desire to dress for comfort.  Fashion doesn’t have to require pain, unless you make it that way.  Leave those six-inch Christian Louboutin’s at home, and go for the painless yet classy and comfortable style.  I love waking up to the thought of wearing an outfit that not only is stylish and chic, but also comfy (and warm if it’s a chilly day)! A large oversized sweater on top of a pair of black leggings is my go-to outfit.  Throw on some black or brown leather boots, and the outfit is complete.  I love this Vince Heather Grey sweater made of wool and yak hair – it’s hip, wearable, and can always be repeated with other jewelry to create a entirely new and different look.  I always buy my sweaters large enough to reach the upper thigh - you have to leave some things to the imagination!  Lululemon black spandex leggings are simple, comfortable, and complement the oversized sweater impeccably. The classic blue, turquoise, magenta, black, and white Emilio Pucci printed scarf made of seasonless gauze absolutely makes this outfit. This pop of color takes an ordinary and almost boring look into an outfit that defines fashion itself.  Throw on a pair of camel-colored leather Chanel boots, and you’re ready for a day of class, shopping, or even attending an NYC event.
